Process & Pricing
The process starts by getting a design request from the client, whether the design is supplied by the client (final digital state or sketch), or designed by Metal Edge Design (see digital fee below).

Preferred file formats are vector (.AI, .CDR, .DXF, and vector EPS). .BMP, .PSD, TIFF, JPEG are also accepted but require converting to vector format. Final designs are emailed or faxed to clients for approval before cutting begins.

Pricing (depends on these 3 factors):
» Design time/digital prep work of provided files... $55/hr (if required)
» Cutting time (formula based on total linear inches).
» Gauge of metal (Client may supply their own steel).

Free estimates. $75 min. order.
Terms: COD with payment of cash, local check or PayPal (add 3%).

What Is Plasma cutting?
For you tech geeks out there (or the just plain curious), plasma cutting works by sending a pressurized gas, such as nitrogen, argon, or oxygen, through a small channel through a plasma torch. In the center of this channel, there is a negatively charged electrode. When power is applied to the negative electrode, touch the tip of the nozzle just off the metal, the connection creates a circuit. A powerful spark is generated between the electrode and the metal. As the inert gas passes through the channel, the spark heats the gas until it reaches the fourth state of matter (plasma). This reaction creates a stream of directed plasma, approximately 30,000 F (16,649 C) and moving at 20,000 feet per second, that reduces metal to molten slag.
